Affinity

When the right answer is "not this one," Affinity says so.

A shopper opens a $425 alpine boot. They tell Affinity what their trips actually look like: rocky day hikes, a light pack, three seasons. Affinity reads it against your team's rules and answers honestly. Then it points them to the boot that fits.

Your team in control

AI that runs on your team's rules. Not AI that writes its own.

Your team knows what's right for your customers. Cartful turns that judgment into rules the AI follows.

  • Your team writes the rules. AI assists with drafts if wanted.
  • Reads your product feed directly. No external dataset. Rules reference the fields and tags your team already maintains.
  • Every recommendation has receipts. Click any output, see the exact rule that decided it.

AI written by your team. Not AI improvising on its own.

Built for the moment a shopper decides.

Chips, not chat

Shoppers tap a few chips to declare their context. Selections compound across product pages in the same session, so they never answer twice.

A verdict, in your voice

Green, yellow, or red. Affinity tells each shopper whether this specific product is right for them, written in your brand's voice.

Auditable by design

Learn why shows every chip the shopper tapped and the rule each one matched. Nothing about the verdict is a black box.

Built on your rule library

Affinity reads from the same rules that power your guided selling quizzes. Configure once, and the same logic works on every product page.

Frequently asked questions

What is Affinity?

Affinity is a product page experience from Cartful. A shopper taps a few chips to declare their context, and Affinity returns a brand-voiced verdict on whether the product they are viewing is right for them. When it is not, Affinity recommends a better-matched product from your catalog and names the specific reason.

How is Affinity different from a recommendation carousel or a chatbot?

A carousel shows more products. A chatbot makes the shopper type. Affinity evaluates the product the shopper is already on and answers one question: is this right for me? It uses chips, not chat, and surfaces an alternative only when the current product is not the right fit.

Where does Affinity get its answers?

From the same rule library your merchandising team configures for guided selling. Affinity reads your product feed directly and applies the rules your team wrote, so its verdicts reflect your judgment rather than a model's guess. Every verdict traces back to a specific rule.

Can a shopper see why Affinity gave a verdict?

Yes. Learn why shows every chip the shopper tapped and the rule each one matched. Verdicts are auditable by design.

Does Affinity work with Studio and the rest of Cartful?

Yes. Affinity reads from the same rule library that powers Cartful Studio guided selling, so it layers onto your existing setup without re-implementation. Most teams start with Studio and add Affinity to extend the same logic to their product pages.

How does Affinity handle shopper data and privacy?

By default, Cartful stores aggregated analytics, not PII. Free text answers are not stored. Emails and names are sent via encrypted API to your downstream tools only when configured. Cartful does not store IP addresses or device identifiers. Cartful is SOC 2 Type II certified.
